APPROVAL OF MINUTES 

First general meeting of the year; no minutes to review/approve 

BOARD 

The 2023-2024 Board was introduced. 

BUDGET 

The budget for the current school year (attached) was distributed by Crystaline Norris-Blanchard, Interim-PTO Treasurer, and reviewed by the board and PTO members. Kristin Meier made a motion to approve the budget which was seconded by Luckie Brown. All present voted in favor of approving the budget as presented. 

REPORTS 

Principal’s Report 

• Dr. Roan was not able to attend 

New Business 

• Recap of New to PISD event – successful; at least 50+ kids and their families in attendance; consider  reducing pizza order and ordering more cheese vs pepperoni 
• Recap of Staff Picnic – miscommunication; not well attended; PTO provided hot dogs and condiments • Recap of Schedule Walk Nights 

Committee Reports 

• Membership 

Crystaline Reported 143 members as of 8/15 with $240 in membership unclassified

Ideas from members on how to increase membership: 

▪ Incentive for students and/or staff (i.e., raffle bas 

▪ Parents to pay/sponsor a teacher 

▪ At Hospitality events, advertise for membership 

▪ Add membership question to Facebook page 

• Spirit Wear 

o Luckie provided update on spirit wear sold to date, $4,720.13 

o Hoodies have come in and will be distributed

o Discussion to order more spirit wear and sale online/at sporting events 

• Staff Birthdays/Star Polisher 

o Teachers have completed their bio sheets so PTO will begin to celebrate teachers’ birthdays • Spirit Night 

o No update on Buff City spirit night sales 

• Sugar Shack 

o First event will be on 8/21 

• Donations/Sponsorships 

o Suggestion to add Donation link to PTO site; blind auction 

o Suggestion to create a banner with listed sponsors
